Testimonial - Steffan Jones:
Former Director of Sport - Wellington School
Fast Bowling & Throwing Specialist Rajasthan Royals IPL

Wellington school has been taking part in the Mersey Cup since the beginning. It's the highlight of our school fixture calendar and 4 days that determine the success of our summer programme. We pride ourselves on the professional approach to preparation and coaching methodology at Wellington school and we feel this tournament provides our players with the appropriate challenge to aid them in their cricketing development. We will continue to attend the tournament and Brad does a brilliant job in organising the event. Over the past 4 years the tournament has also provided the school programme with a great shop window and a consistent talent identification opportunity for us. 6 Mersey Cup players have earned a well earned and respected cricket scholarship at Wellington school based on their performance in the tournament.

MERSEY CUP 2023

Are you wanting to find a challenging tournament for your School, Academy, County or Club side at U15 or U19 level? If so this is the tournament for you. Steffan Jones the Former Director of Sport at Wellington School and the Rajasthan Royals Fast Bowling & throwing specialist writes a testimonial above of what this tournament has provided for his school. This includes offering six cricket scholarships to boys who have performed well in the tournament. The Mersey Cup is a high profile U15 & U19 T20 tournament where the players play six games in three days. The tournament is run on a league basis with bonus points available. 28 County & District players played in 2022 including three overseas players. In 2019 matches on the front pitch at Neston CC where lived streamed so parents that were unable to attend could watch online. We use two of the best premiere league grounds in the Northwest of England so the wickets are of a very high quality. We also appoint premiere league umpires and scorers. The U19 tournament is based in Chester a Roman city and a great place to visit and stay with lots of accommodation, restaurants, bars and pubs.
The U15 tournament is based at  Warrington Cricket Club (around 25 minutes from Chester) and there i is accommodation available as well as restaurants & pubs. Both venues have a number of facilities suitable for visiting teams and families wanting to support their children. *Please see the buttons below which open a PDF file which has timings and costs and information relating to both venues.
We also offer two quality Masterclasses delivered during the week. The U19 tournament include:
MASTERCLASSES

Brad Donelan
(Power Hitting)
(Ex Sussex & Somerset CCC & Head Coach of Pro Cricket Academies)

Paul Lawrence
(Spin Bowling)
